definitely, and I made a lot of LJ posts over many years, so manually deleting or locking them would take BASICALLY FOREVER, just aside from being a deep dive into my past depression, anxiety, school stress, and shitty beliefs that I could really do without

Last night I opened up the case again and reseated the video card (while also cleaning out more dust, rechecking fans, and unplugging/replugging the cables to the card, one of which might have been loose), and then I got a clean boot to work, although still with the weird visual artifacts. But then I reinstalled the video driver I’d downloaded and everything went back to safe-mode-only, so today I uninstalled the driver and it’s…sort of working again? I’m not sure if it’s running off an integrated video card or what, because so far I can’t get any drivers for my card to install properly. I’m increasingly convinced my video card is the problem, though, which I guess is progress as far as troubleshooting goes. And all I really need at this point is for the whole setup to stay functional long enough for me to replace its innards, even if the display still looks ugly.

lol well now that it’s booted with more features and stuff running (antivirus program, audio, ability to communicate with my iPod and iPhone again, etc.), it’s actually even less functional than it was in safe mode because now there’s more stuff running again. also the driver for my video card is definitely not installed because it keeps…not working…even when I install it from the DVD that came with the video card, so at the moment I can’t play video apparently? plus I’m running Windows Update and ended up kinda resyncing my whole iPod so nothing else wants to work.
