I feel like talking about why I, an ace, have sex.

I’m hypersexual. This is a description of my sex drive, not my attraction. Hence why I’m still ace. I legitimately need sex to maintain my mental health. I have sex because it’s important for my mental health.

I also form intense emotional bonds and sex is an amazing way to strengthen them and express my love. I have sex because it strengthens my emotional bonds with my partners.

I want my partners to be happy. I love seeing them happy and satisfied and sex is something I can give to help them feel good. I have sex because my partners enjoy it.

I am autistic. I stim. I love the sensations of sex, of touching. It’s a stim. I have sex because it is a stim that helps me regulate.

Here’s to all the aces who have sex for reasons other than attraction. Here’s to all the hypersexual aces, the aces who have sex to satisfy their partners’ desires, who have sex because it’s a stim, who have sex for the emotional connection.

You’re real, you’re valid, and you’re not the only one.

Please don’t dignify hate with a response.

Look at them!!!!

Those are amazing.

(You could be a flying ace.)

for that pun alone I’m prepared to stick my nose out of the closet…

Dude, these are so cool.

so I’d seen this before and it’s still absolutely gorgeous BUT I don’t think I’d seen the pun on this post before, and now I’m super glad @portraitoftheoddity sent this to me because see, I’ve been really wanting to do some kind of ace-pun cosplay and I really couldn’t think of anything. Ace Ventura is an obvious one but I have no particular feelings about him as a character aside from “wow, gross transphobia,” and something with “flying ace” is also obvious but I couldn’t think of a way to do it. (especially because to be perfectly honest the first character I think of when I hear the phrase “flying ace” is, uh, Snoopy.)

HOWEVER seeing this again made me realize I could definitely do something similar, maybe looking more deliberately artificial, and pair it with some steampunk stuff to make some kind of flying messenger, and considering how much steampunk-themed stuff shows up in Halloween costume sections (also many different types of wings), it probably wouldn’t even be that expensive.

Shout out to ace girls out there struggling because society writes off their asexuality because “girls aren’t supposed to like sex”!

Shout out to ace girls of color who are hypersexualized by western society and are told they can’t be ace because of their race!

Shout out to trans ace girls who can’t tell if body dysphoria causes their asexuality or if they would identify as ace anyway!

Shout out to neurodivergent ace girls that have their asexuality invalidated by counselors as being “just a symptom”!

Shout out to physically ill ace girls who put up with people always “blaming” their asexuality on their illness!

Shout out to ace girls with lots of intersecting identities that too often get ignored!

Shout out to ace girls! You’re all beautiful and valid and deserve love. 🙂

reminder that you can be ace and  gay

reminder that you can be ace and have a sex drive

reminder that you can be ace and have sex

none of these things negate your ace identity

and reminder that if you’re ace, you’re lgbt ❤

i….no?

sure but a sex drive or not having it literally is what makes people ace and ace people are not inherently gay or trans

nope! asexuality means you don’t experience sexual attraction; it has nothing to do with whether you have a sex drive. as the actual ace person already said, you can be ace and have a sex drive, and you can be ace and have (and enjoy) sex. and yes, of course ace people aren’t “inherently gay or trans,” so it’s a good thing that pretty much everyone except a few vocal exclusionists on Tumblr agrees that the LGBT+ community is absolutely not limited to “gay or trans”!

if you’re ace, you’re not straight, and if you’re not straight, you’re queer. it’s really not that complicated.

anyway I don’t know why you decided to wade into ace discourse when you don’t follow me, and…oh, your last few reblogs are about racism against white people, framing the backlash against ScarJo playing a trans man as “bullying,” truscum discourse, and good ol’ “queer is a slur.” literally why are you even on my blog. enjoy your block.
