Gamora straight up being introduced as the last of her people in gotg and then the infinity war turning around and saying that ACTUALLY her planet is thriving because of Thanos’ genocide and that Gamora should be grateful that he murdered her family and took her away is uhhhhhh …. vile

#it would be one thing if okay we heard thanos say that and know it’s a fucking lie #but like. just pretending that wasn’t previous canon for the sake of thanos’s bullshit motive? #like i really hope we’re going to call thanos out on how nonsense bullshit his motive is in the next movie or #this is all gonna look a whoooooole lot worse #at this point just beating him isn’t enough #you gotta repudiate that worldview buddies (tags via @veliseraptor)

I…. just noticed that Thanos broke Loki’s left arm in Avengers: Infinity War.

I’m going to legit end Thanos, friends. Brb.

I definitely noticed that he twists Loki’s left arm to make him drop the knife, but is there something confirming he actually broke it? not that I think he wouldn’t, I’m just wondering if there were details I missed (I actually have watched that scene several times, first to get things right for fic and then because, uh, it’s good whump if I stop before Thanos actually breaks his neck and pretend that part never happened)

if thanos wanted to kill off half of the population because there weren’t enough resources……..but then snapped half of the vegetation and animals (according to the russos)……..then isn’t he back at square one……………and there aren’t enough resources for the population……………

what about……..all of the empty and abandoned planets……..he couldn’t have restributed populations there? or like………..what about endangered species they’re pretty much gone now thanks to T Hanos…………..he really didn’t think this through………….

this is deadass what part 4 is gonna be. like he’s gonna realize “huh…. maybe this wasn’t a good idea” and reverse time.

Or he literally could have just doubled the resources

Maybe I’m wrong but all he would need is the Space Stone to teleport and  redistribute resources + life. But I guess killing half of all life made more sense.

Or he could’ve just created more planets and teleported the halfs but a bitch is too dumb

He can throw a moon for a fight but teleporting some resources is too much work?

He can change reality but he uses it to fake his death and do a power point presentation?

He has the time stone, in which he could literally go back in time and save his home planet ….not by killing half of them …but by using these new powers?

T Hanos a stupid mf and needs his ass beat asap

Thanos’ plan made way more sense when it was to try and bone a skeleton.

It’s not often you can say that changing a story so it’s not about a man trying to have sex with a Space Skeleton makes it LESS coherent and sensible but here we are

1. yeah they really should have stuck with the skeleton fucker thing

2. Are you surprised Thanos genuinely thinks this is a good plan? His entire civilization somehow Mr. Magoo’ed their way into being a space faring empire without ever figuring out renewable energy or sustainable farming practices, and when they found themselves in some kind famine, apparently the only two options presented were to kill half the population, or implode and die, somehow. And they decided to just implode and die, so efficiently that thanos is the only one left,, somehow. The Titans were clearly a race of Magnificent Idiots and Thanos is carrying on that proud tradition.

I have ranted about this before but like, there was some genuine potential in this bullshit? that gets completely ruined by the narrative treating Thanos’s plan like it has merit.

If they’d addressed it for being as stupid as it is and let it reinforce Thanos’s characterization as a short sighted egomaniac, it could have been a great plot point.

but the minute they give it an inch of legitimacy or treat it like a sincere moral quandary and try to frame Thanos as a sympathetic character just doing the hard job that no one else wants to do?

That turns what could have been a solid and interesting character motivation into a load of bullshit that makes it look like the writers dont know how google works.

“If they’d addressed it for being as stupid as it is and let it reinforce Thanos’s characterization as a short sighted egomaniac, it could have been a great plot point.” Absolutely. And possibly the worst part is, from some interviews it sounds like that was more or less the intention, in which case once again, Russo brothers,

actually I’m not even sure you tried tbh

(on the sort-of-plus side, the fact that his plan was ineffective and rock stupid fits with my comics-influenced interpretation that he really is obsessed with death, if not necessarily in anthropomorphized form, and his whole plan was basically an excuse to cause massive amounts of death in a way that made him feel better about his own motives, but…it’s just very bad writing)

Loki in Infinity War concept art. If anyone needs me, I’ll be mopping my heart up off the kitchen floor.

I really wonder what was happening in whatever this scene was potentially going to be though. He’s in those ragged clothes – was Thanos keeping him prisoner? Was there torture involved? Was it him and Thor both or were they separated? Why is he shielding himself with his arm like that? I want a full and detailed explanation! If there was footage I would lose my mind.

Ugh for real this is why it seems so much more interesting than what we got, especially if this concept art ties into that footage of Thanos talking to Loki. He’s sitting down and it doesn’t fit with anything we saw onscreen, so when he says “now that I have the information I need, I’m going to break your neck,” was that in the context of whatever’s happening here? Was there a version where Loki was taken prisoner and, I don’t know, tortured into giving up the Tesseract? Because THAT REALLY DOES SOUND A LOT MORE INTERESTING, MARVEL
