– it’s possible to break into the armadillo bank at night through the front window to loot the chests and safes. be careful to not leave any witnesses as you can’t crack a safe whilst you have a bounty on your head.
– your outfits will get dusty over time and the dust will transfer to other outfits when you change. luckily you can wash them by wading in water. the only outfit that doesn’t gather dust is the gentleman’s attire outfit.
– an unmarked mystery site can be found just south of repentance rock in the center of the looped road. it may be a native american shrine or burial ground and can be recognised by the deer pelt and three stones.
– you can turn settlements into ghost towns by killing every last inhabitant, including animals. the game then pronounces it a ghost town and remains eerily empty for a few days.
– change the time of day by pressing save when at a campsite and then immediately going back without actually saving.
– wolves are afraid of shotgun blasts. if you’re being attacked by a large pack use the shotgun to scare them off.
– if you need to trigger a duel for a challenge you can easily do so by cheating at poker, which forces a duel.
– you can release horses from stagecoaches by tipping them over, you can do this by driving the coach off a small cliff. sometimes the horses will die if you do this.
– you can ring the bells at las hermanas by standing under them and jumping into the air.
– if you walk over a dead npc you get bloody footprints, same for horses walking over dead npcs.
– whistle next to a dog and it will follow you.
– the strange man encountered in the “i know you” mission is either god or satan. rockstar has never confirmed which it is. interestingly, jack marston never sees the strange man.
– the strange man can also be seen in a picture hanging in john and abigail’s bedroom and above jack’s bed.
– the 3 best horses in the game are references to the good, the bad and the ugly. there’s the gold one (blondie), the white one (tuco wore white) and the black one (angel eyes wore black).
– go to bearclaw camp at night and turn your volume up. you’ll hear something breathing or sighing and it’s not marston. the mysterious sound can be heard until 5am every day. this could be linked to the conversation you may overhear between a few npcs in blackwater – they tell the story that bearclaw camp is haunted by spirits from an indian war.
Your hands upon A deadman’s gun, and you’re Lookin’ down the sights
Your heart is warm And the seams are torn, and they’ve Given you a reason to fight
And you’re not gonna take, what they’ve Got to give And you’re not gonna let ‘em, take your Will to live Because they’ve taken enough And you’ve given them all you can give And luck won’t save them tonight They’ve given you a reason to fight
And all the storms you’ve been chasin’ About to rain down tonight And all that pain you’ve been facin’ About to come into the light
do you ever hear the intro theme to a video game and you get really emotional and your heart feels really weak like it’s coming back home and it’s basically like that whole world you love so much summed up into one epic song and you just want to fucking cry a lot because this is the video game for you and nothing else ever can even compare to the feeling you get when you hear that one fucking bit of music
listen I just really love Undead Nightmare, it’s like all the best parts of RDR but less depressing and also shooting zombies is soothing as hell
