Good!

For those who don’t know, here are some actual lyrics from this song:

Oh brother, we’ll go deeper than the ink
Beneath the skin of our tattoos
Though we don’t share the same blood
You’re my brother and I love you that’s the truth

We’re living different lives
Heaven only knows
If we’ll make it back With all our fingers and our toes
5 years, 20 years, come back
It will always be the same

If I was dying on my knees
You would be the one to rescue me
And if you were drowned at sea
I would give you my lungs so you could breathe

I’ve got you brother-er-er-er
I’ve got you brother-er-er-er

I’ve yet to find a song that gives me more Thor and Loki feels.

“Bother” by Kodaline

Listen to it, if you haven’t. Join @iamanartichoke and me.

^^^^ 😢😢😢

This and “Always Gold” by Radical Face are both songs I basically can’t listen to because I get too overwhelmed with sad Brodinson feelings

Voting registration deadlines are coming up really soon (tomorrow, in several states). Go use a site like iwillvote.com or turbovote.org to register or check your registration, and then commit to vote. Otherwise you make Captain America sad and frustrated, and nobody wants that.

“Captain.”

“Hi. Mind if I sit?”

“Feel free. Are you, ah, really intending to consume…all of that?”

“If I’m really lucky, a whole bottle of wine and a case of whatever this is might be enough to give me a buzz, and if that doesn’t work I can at least get a quick sugar high from all this ice cream. So yeah.”

“…bad day?”

“Frustrating. I’m doing some ad spots for a campaign to get out the vote—”

“Of course you are.”

“—and, shut up, they’re not as awful as the ones I did a few years ago, and it’s really important so I’m glad to help, but I see all this garbage online and my god I’m pretty sure I deserve a medal for sticking to the script and not saying something like, I don’t know, how dare you skip voting just because you’ve decided it doesn’t matter, good people died to give you that right, do you have any idea how recently huge numbers of Americans weren’t allowed to vote, and in fact there are lots of people in this country right now who want to exercise that basic right but can’t for one reason or another, and you want to sit here and tell me you’re perfectly capable of getting to the polls but you’re just not going to bother because you’re convinced it doesn’t make a difference and all the candidates are equally bad? Get off your ass and get to the voting booth, I don’t care if the candidates don’t thrill you and you think it won’t matter. This country’s a mess and voting is the very least you can do to start cleaning it up.”

“I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised to find you’re so passionate about this.”

“You’re damn right I am. Pretty sure I’ve earned that. No cracks about how we should’ve let you rule us?”

“And interrupt a rare Captain America rant? Never.”

when loneliness comes stalking, 1.6k, whumptober day 3: insomnia, clint & loki, remember this cold ‘verse, references headcanon from this fic

The nightmares came less often, now, than they had. But they still came, and when they did they were savage as ever, teeth and claws ripping his mind to shreds until he woke shivering, a cry caught in his throat.

Usually that was when he turned over and pressed close to Steve, drawing strength and comfort from his warmth; or, at his worst, Loki would wake him, burrowing into his chest and demanding the reassurance of his voice, his fingers in Loki’s hair.

Tonight he rose alone, slipping silently out of bed, and went walking. He could tell that he was not going back to sleep, his thoughts beginning to twist like snakes devouring themselves. So he would walk a bit, and return before Steve woke. No doubt Steve would join him, if Loki asked, but – his sleep was so often restless, too.

How about exploring how Loki felt when he had the tessaract? Was he in control or was he just as ‘possessed’ as Clint? Was it like a drug, with withdrawal symptoms after he got caught and it was put away? How powerful was he? Did we see all the things he could do, or are there more? PS please pile on the angst s’il-vous-plaĂŽt

hope this isn’t too short. thank u for the prompt, sorry it took a week for me to fill!

Power. Control. Respect.

Being feared.

Obedience. Supplication. Subservience.

It was fine. He was fine. He was fantastic. This was what he wanted. Order. Putting the weak in their place. No disobedience, rebellion, no speaking out or showing defiance.

This was what he wanted. He wanted power. He wanted to conquer, slaughter, reign glorious. To be unmatched in prowess and leverage.

How very like his father, decimating populations and making grand speeches from a throne.

He didn’t want to be loved. He didn’t want freedom. He didn’t want to have a choice.

Of course, he, the God of Mischief and Chaos, believed that subjugation was the pinnacle of existence. That demolishing the wild messy fervor of life in favor of simple order was the perfect plan.

He didn’t shake, he didn’t stumble with exhaustion and lingering agony when he was dropped on Earth to carry out his mission. Fever and tremors did not tear at him, leaving him scarcely able to muster the strength to toss about a measly few Midgardians.

He didn’t desperately hope that his brother would see the disparity between his nature and his actions.

He didn’t accept a resounding defeat at the hands of this team of heroes with exhausted relief.

He didn’t want to be free.

He didn’t.

I’m definitely proud of the staff I made for my Stuttgart Loki cosplay for Senshi Con. The very top came out looking a little crooked because I put it on last, but considering I didn’t know what I was doing and basically made it up as I went along, I think it looks pretty good–especially because the gem lights up, just like Loki’s onscreen staff did.

I started with a lightweight pool cue I got at Value Village for like three bucks and cut it down to a better length. The gem is a lightsaber bubble wand I got at Fred Meyer for also around $3; I dumped out the bubble solution, cut off the wand part, and used superglue and electric tape to attach it to the broad end of the pool cue.

I used some of the bubble wand’s packaging to make the structure for the gem’s housing, making sure the button was still accessible, and then covered everything with more glue and pieces of craft foam.

After temporarily removing the blue part, I spray-painted the whole mess gold.

Obviously it’s not completely perfect or screen-accurate, and there are things I’d do differently if I decided to remake it (which I might at some point, because if I ever want to take it to an out-of-state convention, I’d want to use a two-piece pool cue like I did for my Avengers Academy Loki cane). All things considered, though, I think it’s pretty damn cool, especially because I planned and made it entirely by myself without getting help or using any tutorials. And I mean…it lights up without having cost me tons of money, that’s pretty great.
