Three years of idle living. Three years without a knife in his hand, without fighting for his life. Three years to grow dangerously, fatally, rusty.

He should have known better. He should really, really have known better.

The sword currently driven through his side, just under his ribs, was a pointed (ha, ha) message of just how stupid that decision had been. His breathing hitched and for a moment Loki just stood there, frozen, before he caught himself and slashed his knife through the undead warrior’s throat, backed by enough magic that it sheared through its spine. It collapsed, head rolling off the Bifrost and into the churning sea, and in so doing ripped the sword out of him.

Oh. That was – that was much worse.

It was nothing.

Should have been nothing.

How many times had he suffered worse at the hands of his playmates as a child, how many times had he done worse to those he cared for– Thor, mostly, but Fandral once or twice as well?

It oughtn’t hurt this bad, shouldn’t burn the way it did, and for a moment he thought perhaps the wound was poisoned.

And then he realized it was just the knife, shifting still within him.

I mean, I love Jane’s spunk, don’t get me wrong, but she really put some effort into that punch, like, I want to know how her hand didn’t completely shatter as soon as it made contact with Loki’s god-like face. I don’t mean that in an aesthetic way, I mean literally, Loki is canonically like 500 pounds and hitting his face is probably the equivalent of slamming your fist into a 1000 year old, 500 pound marble pillar. 

I’m just saying, that’s probably, like, super bad for Jane’s hand. 

Lol! For the sake of continuity I’m going to suggest the Aether gave her some extra durability.

Because the mental image of her surprise at hitting marble-pillar-Loki is just too funny. 🙂

That, and I don’t think we have any canonical information on Loki’s weight etc.; it’s obvious from the movies that Asgardians are way more durable than humans, but I think the 500-pound figure is something from the comics that might or might not apply in the MCU.
