today at ECCC:

  • there is simultaneously a very sad lack of Loki art in Artist Alley and also TOO MUCH, because I bought…nearly all the Loki art I saw, WHOOPS
  • just in general there is SO MUCH COOL ART and it’s a Problem because I don’t have the money, space, or mental energy for decisions for a little of everything I like
  • went to a panel that included Tamora Pierce and (aside from one minor enby-erasing comment) I loved her, she’s like the best kind of salty grandma who’s seen everything and gives no fucks anymore what people think of her
  • a discovery: some vendors sell loose action figures, which is GREAT, because I’m an out-of-box collector with everything and loose stuff is cheaper, so for instance I found a Marvel Legends Civil War Wanda for (I’m pretty sure) less than I would’ve paid online
  • met an adorable, excited pomsky
  • at least a couple people complimented my Wanda cosplay and one person asked for a picture
  • met @veliseraptor and @ameliarating 😀
  • the only cosplay that is really sticking in my head is Chef Thanos, because it was very clearly Thanos, as a chef, and I’m still puzzling over it
  • got to tell Ryan North how much I love his Squirrel Girl, and also how much I love the bits he did with Loki (which I feel a little bad about actually because I definitely talked about Loki more than Doreen, but it was all compliments so it’s probably fine??)

BUT panels can also be a huge bust (sometimes because of panelists, sometimes audience members) and more importantly what if there’s some amazing Loki art or merch that would be unavailable or very expensive elsewhere and I MISS IT because I didn’t scour every booth D:

I’m gradually realizing I pretty much have to choose between a) going to any panels at all and b) trying to see everything in Artist Alley and the show floor, and it’s cranking up my existing level of paranoid FOMO to, like, 15
